We have all lost someone we love that leaves an empty space not only in our physical life but also, in our hearts. When someone loses a child, whether that be during pregnancy, at birth, in infancy, childhood, or even if that child is an adult, it can shake them to their core. That empty place can seem very dark, desperate, and hollow. We want to allow families a space to shine light back into that cave in their hearts. We want to allow a space for their loved ones’ names to not be forgotten and for their memories to matter and their lives, no matter how brief, to make a difference in this world. We want families to feel they can hear the whisper of their loved one, “Remember me with joy”.
By making a donation to “Remember me with joy”, you will help support families in the NICU, but more directly, families who have recently lost their baby. The funds collected in July, August, and September of 2022 will go towards the cost of a NICview camera at St. Michaels. A donor tree will be added to the NICU wall at Christus St. Michaels with a plaque stating, “Remember me with joy”. Families will be able to see this plaque and know the life of their loved one is making a difference for another family walking through their own battle.
